Fool Proof Cookies

I don't really cook.  I don't have time to bake.  I even burn frozen pizza.

This is an easy recipe.  Even if you burn the bottom of these cookies they still taste good, or at least that is what my 8-year old daughter says.  You can roll the dough into balls and plop them on the cookie sheet.  Or if you want to cut them out we used play-doh equipment, because I couldn't find the cookie cutters.

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk
2 1/4 cups flour
Beat butter, sugar, salt and vanilla.  Then add egg yolk.  Then mix in flour.
You can scoop the dough and roll into balls and put on cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Or if you want to be fancy and use cookie cutters, you want to chill the dough for a few hours.
Bake for 15-18 minutes at 325 degrees F.
